New restaurant options in Augusta opening for students on and off campus

Augusta has seen some new restaurants open this spring inside Augusta University’s campuses and also nearby. 

The SubConnection opened in May for breakfast and lunch in the Allgood Hall atrium inside the Summerville Campus at AU.

SubConnection’s advertisement reads as follows: “At SubConnection, you get freshness. Enticing subs and salads made with high quality meats, garden-fresh produce and fresh breads. Not your ordinary sub shop, the portions are generous and made-to-order. SubConnection satisfies the heartiest appetites.”

Summer hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Hours are likely to change for the start of the fall semester. 

Clean Eatz also recently opened and is located in Augusta on Crane Creek Drive near Sprouts Farmers Market, just off Walton Way Extension and I-20. 

The menu consists of salads, healthy burgers, wraps and other healthy items. Customers can also sign up for meal plans to fit their healthy lifestyle. 

Clean Eatz is opened 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 

AU will also have new restaurants opening on campus for the upcoming fall semester.

The Summerville food court is now closed for the summer for remodeling, but will reopen in the fall with a Pizza Hut Express and Freshens Fresh Kitchen. 

Pizza Hut Express hours will be from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and opened until 2 p.m. on Friday.  Fresh French Kitchen will open 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 2 p.m. on Friday. 

National chain Einstein Bros. Bagels opened on the Health Sciences campus in April. Einstein Bros. replaced the Commons Café. Einstein’s hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is located at 1301 R.A. Dent Blvd. in the J. Harold Harrison Education Commons.
