Jaguars win Southland Conference women's golf championship

The Augusta University women’s golf team captured their first Southland Conference championship on Wednesday, April 20, at the Panorama Golf Club in Conroe, Texas.

AU finished 20 shots ahead of second-place Imaculate Word. The Jaguars were led by Natalia Yoko, who finished second in individual play at 5 over par on the par-72, 6,072-yard Panorama layout. Yoko shot a 71 in the final round.

Teammate Chloe Holder finished third at 7 over par, Napabhach Boon-In was sixth and Kennedy Carroll eighth.

For Coach Caroline Hegg, it is the first conference title at AU as the Jaguars became members of the Southland last year.

Augusta advances to the NCAA Division I regionals May 10-12 at a site to be determined. There are six regional sites.

The NCAA Division I women's golf selection show will be broadcast at 4 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, April 27, on the Golf Channel.
