Holder takes solo lead, Jaguars increase hold on Southland Tournament

After being tied for first at the end of the first 18 holes, Chloe Holder shot a 2-over-par 74 in round two to gain solo possession of first place and extended Augusta University women’s golf lead to 13 strokes on Tuesday, April 19, in Conroe, Texas, at the Panorama Golf Club.

Holder holds a one-shot lead over Ellen Nicholas of Incarnate Word at the par-72, 6072-yard Panorama course. Holder had two birdies and four bogeys in round two.

The Jaguars had a six-shot lead after round one, but extended their lead, shooting a 303 total on round two. AU now sits at 27-over-par for the tournament, 13 strokes ahead of Incarnate Word, which is 40-over-par. 

AU’s Natalia Yoko sits in third place, shooting a two-over-par 74 in round two. Yoko had two birdies, two bogeys and one double bogey on her round. 

Napabhach Boon-In is tied for fourth for the Jaguars, shooting a 5-over-par 77. She finished with two birdies, five bogeys and one double bogey in round two. 

AU’s Kennedy Carroll is tied for sixth, shooting a 6-over-par 78 in round two. She finished with one birdie, four bogeys and one triple bogey. 

Nicole Page, who was tied for fourth for the Jaguars in round one, struggled in round two, shooting a 14-over-par 86. 

The final round will be played tomorrow with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. (EDT).
