Coffee Week: Trellis Coffee Bar

Trellis Coffee Bar is one of the newest additions to the Augusta area. The fun new restaurant is right in between Augusta University’s Summerville campus and Health Science campus. Trellis just opened this location in October 2023 but has already earned a considerable reputation for itself.  

Trellis originally started as a coffee cart about a year ago that traveled around local markets, including the Augusta Locally Grown Market. The name Trellis comes from an architectural structure that helps plants grow and gives support which can be compared to what Trellis is doing for the Augusta community. This fun new shop has become a hub for many locals and students.  

Jessica Gaugush, who is the Processing Manager and has been with Trellis since the coffee cart days, says that the community aspect of Trellis is what sets it apart from other coffee shops. “One of our values is really just community over coffee and trying to help Augusta flourish as a community,” says Gaugush.  

Gaugush’s favorite drink is the TCB Delight which is one of the most popular and a staff favorite.
