AU student publishes children's book

Augusta University student Hannah Brown-Kitchens can now add author to her resume.
In March of this year, Brown-Kitchens published her children’s book called “When I Grow Up.”
A senior communication major graduating this semester, Brown-Kitchens said the idea sparked in high school and she held on to it ever since.
Since its publication, Brown-Kitchens has sold close to 100 copies of the book.
“I turned this little idea into a reality for kids to read,” she said.
Brown-Kitchens said it was a detailed process to publish the book and obtain the copyright, but it was something that she wanted to do as she has goals to turn the book into a series.
The local author said the opportunity to share her book has been amazing, as she’s shared it with several places in the community.
“I’ve been getting a lot of feedback and great responses from it,” she said. “It’s been very positive.”
For her, Brown-Kitchens said she wants children to dream big and imagine.
“This book has a long way to go, and it’s just now starting,” she said. “I’m eager to see where it goes.”
