AU men win sixth straight Peach Belt XC title; Jaguar women finish second

The Augusta University men, led by Avery Jaynes, took home their sixth consecutive Peach Belt Conference cross-country championship with a perfect score of 15 in Gainesville (Ga.) on Saturday morning, Oct. 26.
Jaynes, who was already named conference runner of the year, ran the 8-kilometer men’s race in 24 minutes, 51.6 seconds for the Jaguars. He was followed by teammate Jordan Robertson in 24:52.3 and then AU’s Brandon Martin in 24:52.7.
Rounding out the men’s top five were the Jaguars’ Patrick Motes in 24:54.8 and Tripp Miller in 24:54.8.
Augusta finished 30 points ahead of Flagler, which took places six through 10. Georgia College was third in the men’s race with 101 points.
On the women’s side, Flagler scored 19 points to repeat as champion, followed by AU ins econd with 45 points.
Emily McBride was the first Jaguar runner across the line, in fifth place in the 5K race. Madison Kennedy was sixth and Maria Biondollilo took eighth.
Both Augusta teams advance to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regionals in Spartanburg, S.C., on Nov. 9.
