With a newly launched app, AU Health is providing ways for doctors to complete telemedicine screenings of patients and reduce the risk of spreading illnesses through face-to-face appointments.

These new screening methods will be available soon for all through a single link or an app available for download on Android and Apple products.

After downloading the app, you will enter all your medical history information into the system and then, speak through a video in order for a doctor to answer your questions. Per the doctor’s evaluation, should they feel you are at potential risk for the COVID-19, they will be able to schedule a drive-thru appointment for your testing.

This drive-thru screening is set up at two locations. Depending on where you live, you will be screened at Christenberry Fieldhouse located off Wrightsboro Road in Augusta or at Patriots Park recreational facility in Grovetown.

Appointments will be taken from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at Christenberry Fieldhouse. For the Patriots Park location, appointments will be taken from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

According to AUHealth, this drive-thru screening is done by appointment only. AU instructs people to do the following:

First, Please create an account at www.augustaexpresscare.com or download the mobile app of the same name.

You will be directed to participate in video chat with a physician that is standing by.

If you receive a positive screening, you will be scheduled for an appointment at Christenberry Fieldhouse for drive-thru testing.

While the Augusta University Medical Center encourages the use of this new app, you are still able to have a screening done over the phone, should you prefer to do so instead. For over the phone screenings, please call 706-721-1852.
