AU opens NCAA regional volleyball play against rival USC Aiken

Staff reportThe Augusta University volleyball team, the Peach Belt Tournament champion, will play rival USC Aiken in the first round of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional at Wingate, N.C., on Dec. 5 at 5 p.m.The fourth-seeded Jaguars (27-8) defeated the fifth-seeded Pacers (25-5) two of the three times the teams played this season, including sweeps in the last two matches.Augusta enters with wins in nine of its last 10 matches.The Jaguars are led by Chloe Allen, who made second team all region, Nicolette Ramos and Kylie Martin. Allen had 101 kills, 274 digs and 111 blocks. Ramos led the team with 147 kills and was the MVP of the conference tournament. Martin enters with 144 kills and 322 digs.Alie Smith leads the Pacers with 167 kills.
