By Brian Mitchell |Sports writerThe Augusta University volleyball team defeated Limestone 3-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at Christenberry Fieldhouse.The Jaguars (10-2) were led by Nicolette Ramos with 17 kills, 13 digs and 19 total points, and Holland Martin with 18 digs.AU won the first set 25-15. The Jaguars offense was the key to victory in that set. The Saints put up more of a fight in the second set, but AU still won 25-21. The Jags cruised to a victory in the third set, winning 25-12.The Jaguars' offense also got a boost from Kassie Till, who led the team in assists with 33.The Jaguars' defense was no pushover as well. The Jags' defense was led by Martin and Nedu Evans. In addition to Martin's 18 digs, Evans had the teams only solo block. Evans had four block assists as well.Jaguar Kylie Martin had a strong all-around game with five services ace, seven kills and 10 digs.“Our center struggled a little bit tonight with undersetting our hitter, but we ran our routes, and obviously we came out on top, which is a good win for us,” AU Coach Sharon Quarles said.Vanessa Blas led Limestone (3-5) with 10 kills and two blocks, and Aidan Rorher had five kills and one block for the Saints.The Jaguars (10-2) will next play on Saturday, Sept. 28 against Shorter University in Rome.
