Register for AU's Day of Service: Battle Against Hunger

 By Rhys Payne |Staff writerAugusta University hosts a Day of Service every year as a volunteer opportunity for students, and this year it will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3.One of the Day of Service events, “Battle Against Hunger" is being sponsored by the Academic Success Center, First and Second Year Experience, Office of Experimental Learning, and Student Life and Engagement.The “Battle Against Hunger” involves a team effort to package meals for those in need. Freshman and sophomores will be pitted against each other to see who can package more meals. The winning team will have its photograph taken and will be branded as the class winners for the rest of the year.To make this day of service possible, 125 volunteers need to register by Sept. 21. Faculty, freshman and sophomores are encouraged to volunteer and can sign up here.Each participant will receive a T-shirt, and lunch will be provided after the event.
