The CREW's foam party was fun but forgetful

By Rhys Payne |Staff writerTo kick off the semester, Augusta University’s CREW organized a foam party on the Education Commons on the Health Sciences campus on Aug. 23.The foam party was meant to be a fun event to kick off the semester. Last semester’s kick off event was a paint party where students were encouraged to wear white shirts to keep the paint color. The event was a lot of fun and everyone loved it. However, this year didn’t live up to the hype. The unenthusiastic DJs did little to hype the crowd and there wasn’t enough foam to keep the fun going. The awkward breaks between foam blasting left partygoers twiddling their thumbs, and the offbeat music selection just didn’t hit the spot. Some students did seem to enjoy themselves, though. For example, Tran Keller, a sophomore communication major, really enjoyed the party. “[It was] a very good way to interact and socialize with every other class at AU,” Keller said.Chris Forde, the president of CREW, was optimistic about the event and the turnout, saying that there was a “pretty standard turnout.”Hopefully the CREW will continue to organize events such as this, but with more success. Regardless, every event is an experience and you wouldn’t want to miss it. As Forde, senior political science major, said, “Stuff like this makes college what it is.”Contact Rhys Payne at empayne@augusta.edu
