AU's Everett wins NCAA golf championship

It came at Karsten Creek, where Patrick Reed, the recent Masters champion, helped lead the Jaguars to their second team title in 2011. Everett's 14-footer beat Auburn's Brandon Mancheno by a stroke. Augusta University's Broc Everett finished the 72 holes of stroke play in a tie with Auburn's Brandon Mancheno at 7 under par at the NCAA Division I men's golf championships on Monday in Stillwater, Okla.After Mancheno, a freshman, birdied the last, Everett still had several holes to play but could not get a late birdie to seal a national title. He had an 11-footer for birdie after his wedge shot on 18 but missed.A playoff will get under way shortly. Both players are returning to the 18th tee to the start the playoff. The Bell Ringer will update once the playoff is completed.
