The deadline to register to vote in the runoffs for the two U.S. Senate seats in Georgia is this upcoming Monday (Dec. 7).

Citizens can register online or by mail as long as the postage is stamped on Dec. 7.

Those who are U.S. citizens living in Georgia with proper identification and over the age of 18 at the time of the election are eligible to vote.

Voters will have the opportunity to decide whether the incumbent Republican senators David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler will remain in office, or be replaced the challenging Democratic nominees Jon Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock, respectively.

The race is in full swing as each of the candidates have been traveling and campaigning across the state to rally support.

In addition to campaigning, the unprecedented amount being spent on advertising illustrates how tightly contested the races are, as control over the U.S. Senate is to account for.

Early voting in Georgia begins Dec. 14, and Election Day is Jan. 5, 2021.
