TSS 6/22: A wrap-up of all sports at Augusta University after Fall '23
Fall sports have wrapped up at Augusta University. The men’s cross-country team made it to the NCAA Division II championships in Joplin, Mo., finishing 15th, and the Jaguar volleyball team made it the Division II Sweet Sixteen, with Jazmyn Wheeler earning second-team all-American status—a first in program history. Both teams won the Peach Belt Conference championship, with the volleyball team winning both the regular-season and tournament crowns. AU women and men’s golf also competed in the fall, and the baseball and softball teams played exhibition games. Of course, women and men’s basketball got going, with both teams getting ranked in the top 25 at one point in the early season. And Augustus even got his own statue, at the Columbia County Education Day game on Dec. 18. (photo above by Paula Toole, AU Athletics)
