Who is The Crew at Augusta University?

At the beginning of a new semester, the Augusta University campus can expect much action, fellowship and involvement circulating around the community.

The Jaguar Production Crew is an organization that can be credited for much of the student engagement on campus.

Mahogany Davis is a graduate student at AU and Marketing Graduate Assistant for “The Crew.”

According to Davis, The Crew is an organization that allows for “student-based events” such as Take a Break Tuesday, Homecoming, Take Over Tuesday and the Mr. and Ms. AU pageant.

“The Crew promotes events that let students come out and just get out of their shell for a second,” she said.

Freshman Annabell Nguyen applied for a position within The Crew over the summer.

After seeing promotion of the organization on Instagram, she got the impression that they are really involved on campus.

“They do, like, everything for the campus,” she chuckled.

Nguyen adds, “I was interested because I knew no one at AU and I knew if I joined a club that was so involved I would meet a lot more people.”

After getting accepted, she got introduced to the requirements and guidelines that come with participation.

“I’m really excited to meet everyone and I’m excited to see the events and the behind the scenes action, you know?”, she said upon expressing her enthusiasm towards carrying a walkie talkie.

According to Davis, though applications are closed, The Crew allows for volunteers. This way, students still have access to “goodies” such as t-shirts and other AU merchandise, along with leadership and event coordination experience that can be put on a resume.
