Renovations to Campus Recreation Center shows 'positive feedback,' registration open for intramural sports

While students enjoyed swimming and sunshine over the summer, renovations sprung to action at the Campus Recreation Center during the month of June.  

“In our continued effort to make the Augusta University Campus Recreation Center a top-notch facility for AU students and members, we decided to update the flooring in the weight areas, spin studio and track,” said Patsy Davis, associate director of Campus Recreation, “We also wanted to create a more AU branded interior. Communications and Marketing did a fabulous job of creating wall graphics for the spin studio and weight room.”

The student/staff gym isn’t the only thing the Campus Recreation Center has to offer. Registration is open for all Intramural Sports.

“Fall sports include flag football, volleyball and pickleball,” said Davis, “AU students can sign up at www.imleagues.com/augusta. Our Outdoor Rec program is in full swing with Monday night bike rides and Full Moon Kayak Trips on Sept. 29.”

Students can sign up at the CRC member services desk. 

“We have received only positive feedback from AU students and staff,” Davis said. “Everyone is pleased with the outcome and enjoying the upgrades.”

Davis informed that patrons have access to over 400 fitness classes like yoga, barre, spin, HIIT, kickboxing and more!

“We are here to create an atmosphere that is conducive to the well-being of Augusta University students and staff,” says Davis, “We are looking forward to a great semester!”
