Perdue and Ossoff will have a runoff election in January

The Senate race in Georgia will now have two runoff elections as neither the incumbent Republican Senator David Perdue or Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff made more than 50 percent of the vote.

Perdue led as he achieved 49.8 percent of the vote while Ossoff earned 47.9 percent of the vote.

They will both face off in January 2021 as voters return to the polls to vote again.

Perdue and Ossoff will join to create the second runoff election taking place in the state as Kelley Loeffler and Rev. Raphael Warnock will also compete for a Senate seat this upcoming January.

The senior spokesperson for the Perdue campaign was reached for comment, but did not respond by deadline.
