Raphael Warnock, a Democrat, achieved 32.8 percent of votes while Kelly Loeffler, the incumbent Republican, achieved 26 percent of votes in the U.S. Senate special election to replace Johnny Isakson, and there will be in a runoff election in January 2021.

Loeffler was appointed to replace Isakson, who retired for health reasons last December.

Finishing third was Republican Congressman Doug Collins, who finished with 20 percent of the vote.

Warnock is the minister at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. Loeffler owns Atlanta’s WNBA team.

Warnock and Loeffler published their first advertisements regarding the runoff election.

Warnock’s advertisement focused on the commitments he is willing to make to Georgians if he is elected to the Senate.

In Loeffler’s advertisement, she congratulated the members of Qanon and stated that she was more conservative than Attila the Hun and highlights her “race to the right.”

Warnock has already spoken to his desire to improve health care for all and expanding Medicaid across Georgia. He has maintained his core belief that everyone has a right to vote by helping people register.

Loeffler has spoken of a reformed health care system with lower costs and supports policies for securing the American border.

In the other U.S. Senate race in Georgia, incumbent Republican David Perdue leads Democrat John Ossoff 49.8 percent to 47.8 percent, according to the Associated Press. If Perdue does not get more than 50 percent of the vote, he and Ossoff will also have a runoff.
