Jaguars sit in 16th place heading into final day of Moon Golf Invitational

The Augusta University women’s golf team sat in 16th place heading into the last day of the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla.

Augusta earned a combined score of 602 through the first two days. The Jaguars scored 304 and 298 for Day One and Day Two, respectively. AU has made 17 birdies and 112 pars.

“I think we started off slow, but we came into round two with good attitudes,” said AU golfer Nicole Page. “Going into the last day, we are going to be very aggressive and try to make as many birdies as possible.”

The University of South Carolina, Louisiana State University, and Virginia round out the top three of the competition thus far. USC was in first place with a score of 555 heading into the final day.

The current highest Jaguar is sophomore Napabhach Boon-In with a score of 148, after shooting a 75 and 73 through rounds one and two, respectively. She was tied for 50th place. Senior Teresa Diez-Moliner is tied for 59th, having a combined score of 149. 

Page had a combined score of 152 as she sat in 75th. Freshman Mary Hunt Murray scored 153 to tie for 78th place. The final golfer for Augusta, Charlotte Alran, totaled 160 going into the final round in 92nd.

“The spring season has been different, but we are just grateful to all be together and have a season,” said Page.

In today’s final round, AU will pair against Alabama, Auburn, Central Florida and Florida Atlantic.
