Jaguars rebound with straight-sets win on the road over Georgia College

The Augusta University volleyball team won over Georgia College on Tuesday night, Oct. 10, by scores of 25-9, 25-18, 25-11 in Milledgeville in a Peach Belt Conference match.

Senior Jazmyn Wheeler led the way with 11 kills as the Jaguars (4-1, 15-4) got back on the winning track after losing at home to Lander University on Oct. 7. Wheeler, the outside hitter from Phoenix, Ariz., also had four service aces for AU. Sophia Kruczko added eight kills and Abigail LeVines six for the Jaguars, who hit at a .294 clip—compared to .057 for the home team.

Setter Janvier Buggs had 31 assists, 10 digs and four aces, while libero Dariana Luna added 14 digs for the winners.

Rachel Machovec led the Bobcats (0-7, 10-11) with five kills and eight digs. Riese Johnson had 12 assists.

After the bounce-back win, AU now has a week off before playing at former conference rival UNC Pembroke, which was 11-9 after Tuesday’s road loss in four sets at Lander.
