Being a student in college is stressful enough, but getting involved can also be just as or even more stressful. At Augusta University, there are a lot of opportunities for students to get involved around campus.

Student Life & Engagement at Augusta University strives to provide innovative programs to help students get involved around campus. Through these programs, students can meet new people, learn from others and find people to connect with.

Here are some programs that offer students the best opportunity to get involved at Augusta University:

  • The CREW. This organization is an entity of Student Life & Engagement, whose purpose is to coordinate activities that enhance and enrich the quality of student life by addressing the needs and interests of its diverse student body. The events that they host are the CREW Spring Kickoff, Takeover Tuesday, Late Night w/ The CREW: Drive-in Movie, and Spring Fling, and they also do the events for Homecoming.

  • Student Government Association. According to its website, SGA’s goal is to represent the undergraduate student body and resolve student concerns by serving as a liaison between students, staff and faculty. Students have the opportunity to serve as senators and attend meetings that help to appropriate funds and develop policy recommendations.

  • Fraternity & Sorority Life. At Augusta University, there are a total of 14 fraternities and sororities, three councils, and one honor society. Greek life at Augusta University provides students an opportunity to find friends, develop leadership skills, network with alumni, and create memories to last them for years to come.

  • Intramural Sports. This program allows students to participate in sports leagues, tournaments, and special events at Augusta University. Students play in recreational leagues with teams competing against each other for fun and fitness. Joining this program offers a great way to meet new people, get active, and help students showcase their skills.

  • CRU. This is an organization that allows students a place to meet people and connect them to Jesus Christ. CRU is a church organization that aims to help students understand what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They host weekly worship gatherings, small group bible studies, and many other social gatherings. https://www.facebook.com/AugustaCru/

This list is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to ways students can get involved at AU. During the semester, the bulletin boards around campus promote events that students can attend.

If you or another student you know, doesn’t know how to get started, then visit @AUG_StudentLife on Instagram or be on the lookout for posters around campus to see what is happening. Now go out there and get involved and enjoy the many opportunities that AU has to offer.
