Flagler downs Jaguars in Peach Belt Conference VB final

Flagler College denied Augusta University its fifth straight Peach Belt Conference Tournament title, sweeping the Jaguars in three sets on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Lander.

The Saint won the championship match by set scores of 25-21, 25-21, 25-19.

Flagler’s all-conference outside hitter Jordan Berglin led the way with 23 kills and nine digs.

The Saints (14-10) beat the Jaguars (20-7) for the thrid time in as many tries this season. AU had upset conference regular-season champion Lander in the semifinals on Friday, Nov. 22.

Now the Saints and Jaguars, as well as Lander, wait until Sunday, Nov. 24, to find out their seeding in the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional, which will be played in two weeks.

The Jaguars won two of their three matches in the tournament, beating Georgia College in the play-in game.

AU’s Jada Suguturaga was named to the all-tournament team.
