AU's Arnold, Crawford named to all-Peach Belt first team

Augusta University’s Miguel Arnold and Tyshaun Crawford have been named to the all-Peach Belt Conference first team, the league announced on Feb. 28.

Arnold has averaged 17.5 points game, third in the conference. Crawford averaged 21.3 points, 8.2 rebounds (second in the league) and 2.0 blocks per game (first in the PBC).

The Jaguars’ Tyree Myers was named to the third team. Myers leads the leagues in assists and is the PBC’s all-time assist leaders.

Frank Champion of North Georgia was named PBC player of the year. Champion was second in the league in scoring and first in rebounding.

Crawford shared the player of the year award last season with Flagler’s Jaizec Lottie, who now plays professionally in Switzerland.

On the women’s side, AU’s Kennedi Manny and Tomiyah Alford made the second team.

Mackenzie Johnson of Young Harris was named league player of the year.

The AU women will play North Georgia in the opening round of the Peach Belt Tournament on March 1 in Americus. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m.

The Jaguar men will play Flagler at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, at Christenberry Fieldhouse in their PBC Tournament opener.
