Augusta University announced it will transition all in-person classes to remote instruction and cancel in-person activities on Tuesday, Jan. 21, due to an approaching winter storm.
The university emphasized its commitment to the safety of students and employees in a campus-wide JAG Alert issued Sunday. Faculty members are encouraged to coordinate with department chairs and deans to ensure that missed in-person instructional content is addressed through remote learning.
Residence hall students will receive additional guidance regarding transportation and dining services from Housing and Residence Life. Atrium Dining is scheduled to operate on its regular hours.
Students and faculty involved in clinical responsibilities will be notified directly by their leadership. Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center and affiliated clinics will remain open, and employees working at Wellstar facilities are expected to report as scheduled.
Augusta University employees are encouraged to work remotely, with essential personnel being contacted by their supervisors if required to report in person.
The university advised the community to monitor updates through official social media accounts and its website, augusta.edu. Further announcements regarding the week’s scheduling will be made as weather forecasts become more definitive.
