The Augusta University Jaguars lost to the Erskine College Flying Fleet by a score of 10-4 on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at AU’s baseball field.

Erskine started things in the first with a solo homer from Josean Sánchez, but an error by Erskine’s pitcher on a Mike Morrison groundball was able to score Kyle Lodise.

The Fleet were up 3-1 in the third when Parker Ingram homered with Dylan Wanat on base to even the score 3-3.

Erskine finally struck again in the sixth inning with three runs to run up the score 6-3, but Wanat was able to push Lodise across the plate on an RBI single to center field in the seventh to bring the score to 6-4.

The Fleet sealed the win in the eighth inning with a grand slam from Dale Francis Jr.

Grant Jones took the loss for the Jaguars. He tossed two-thirds of an inning and allowed three runs on one hit, one walk and one hit by a pitch.

Next up, Augusta will face Kentucky Wesleyan College in a series this weekend. Friday’s first pitch is slated for 4 p.m. Saturday’s game will start at 2 p.m. and Sunday will start at 1 p.m.
