By Kimberlyn Ware | Staff writer
Augusta University’s office of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement held its fourth annual Augusta Gives event on March 23.
Augusta Gives is a day of giving to the AU community, with hundreds of funds to choose from, including AU student life, health care and education.
“Augusta Gives is continuing to bring awareness about the importance of giving back in philanthropic dollars that support our students and our patients.” said Wes Zamzow, executive director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving.
“Money raised goes toward scholarships, patient care, athletics.” Zamzow added. “A big component of the giving campaign is to start that alumni process and philanthropic process with our students of giving back to the institution that’s given our students so much.”
Celebrations for the event were held on the Summerville Campus on the JSAC patio and Health Sciences Campus Quad. The Summerville location had a live DJ, a 360 photobooth and Chick-fil-a.
Augusta Gives 2023 ended with 787 donors, raising over one million dollars.
