Yoko tied for third, AU women’s golf team in seventh after second round of NCAA regional

Augusta University’s Natalia Yoko shot a 4-under-par 68 in round two of the NCAA regional championship, putting herself tied for third after play on Tuesday, May 10, in Franklin, Tenn., at Vanderbilt’s Legends Club.

Yoko was tied for third with Tess Davenport of Vanderbilt and Rachel Kuehn of Wake Forest. Yoko began the tournament with an even-par 72 in round one on Monday. In round two, Yoko finished with five birdies and only one bogey, leading to her to her score of 68.

The Jaguars were 17-over-par as a team, putting them in seventh place.

Napabhach Boon-In was tied for 17th, shooting an even-par 72 in both rounds one and two. She also had three birdies and three bogeys in both rounds.

Southland Conference freshman of the year Chloe Holder was tied for 42nd, shooting a 3-over-par 75 in round one and a 4-over-par 76 in round two. She finished round two with three birdies and seven bogeys.

AU’s Kennedy Carroll was tied for 60th, shooting 9-over-par 81 in round one and a 5-over-par 77 in round two. Nicole Page sat in 64th place for the Jaguars, shooting a 10-over-par 82 in round one and a 7-over-par 79 in round two.

NCAA Regional host Vanderbilt held the lead at 7-under-par. Jennie Park of Texas A&M leads the tournament individually at 9-under-par.

The tournament will begin the third and final at 9 a.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, May 11. Yoko will tee off 9:44 (EDT) and looks to finish strong to qualify for the NCAA Championship, which begins on Monday, May 20, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
