AU women's golf completes play in Moon Golf Invitational

The Augusta University women’s golf team finished 17th place at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla., at the Duran Golf Club, falling one spot in the final round.

The Jaguars finished with a 37-over-par total for the 54-hole tournament.

The University of South Carolina won the tournament with a 10-shot margin of victory over the field and a combined score of 840. Louisiana State University finished second with a score of 846. The University of Virginia rounded out the top three with its score of 854.

AU sophomore Napabhach Boon-In placed highest for the Jaguars with a tie for 51st. Boon-In shot a 75, 73 and 73 during the 54-hole tournament, finishing with a score of 221.

Right behind her was senior Teresa Diez-Moliner, who finished tied for 55th place, one shot below Boon-In, with a score of 222. 

Senior Nicole Page finished in 81st place, with a score of 230. Freshman Mary Hunt Murray and senior Charlotte Alran tied for 88th place, finishing with a score of 235.

After two tournaments in consecutive weeks, the Jaguars now have a few weeks off to prepare to host the Valspar Augusta Invitational on March 13-14. It will be played at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta. Forest Hills is the home course of the Jaguars.
