AU Homecoming Dance 2024

On Feb. 16, Augusta University hosted the annual homecoming dance in the JSAC ballroom where many students gathered to commence the end of homecoming week and crown the duke and duchess. 

The dance featured a DJ with a dancefloor, photobooth and refreshments including free 7 Brew Coffee. 

Towards the end of the dance, the nominees for duke and duchess gathered on the dance floor and the winners were announced. 

The winners that night for duke and duchess were John Blalock and Addy Coker.

“The dance was so much fun. I went with a group of friends and it was so fun to dance the night away with them,” said Skylar Kirkpatrick. “I had the time of my life just goofing off with them. Thankful for the community that Campus Outreach at AU has given me.”

“The homecoming dance was actually really fun… I’m a junior and this was the first one I’ve been to. I went with a large group of my best friends and we had a blast,” said Lorelei Culbreth.

She added, “Getting to see the crowd go crazy when the duke and duchess were announced was awesome. It’s so cool to see school spirit and student life come together in such a fun way.”

This was my first homecoming dance and it was so much fun. The DJ killed it with throwbacks and newer songs,” said Emiliano Huerta.

He adds, “I enjoyed just dancing with my friends and having a great time. My favorite was rooting for my boy John for duke! John won duke!”

The homecoming dance concluded the week with the homecoming game the following day.
