AU baseball gets series victory over Georgia Southwestern

The Augusta University baseball team took two of three from Georgia Southwestern University in Peach Belt Conference baseball action over the weekend.
The two teams split Friday and Saturday’s game, but the Jaguars (2-4, 3-8) won the finale on Sunday, Feb. 26, by a score of 12-7.
In that game, the Jaguars belted out 19 hits in the victory.
Center fielder Harrison Aulds homered and had three RBI to lead the way for AU. Second baseman Koby Ayala and first baseman Jordan Wilkie also had big games. Ayala went 4 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored. Wilkie went 3 for 4 with two runs.
Third baseman Parker Ingram also contributed at the plate with a 2-for-4 day that included a double and two RBI. Pat Galvin went 3 for 4 and walked. Galvin scored two runs.
Right-hander JR Fordham pitched five and a third innings to get the win. Fordham struck out five and allowed five hits. Jasper Dubberly pitched one-hit ball for three innings to earn the save.
First baseman Paul Hegeman homered for GSW (4-2, 7-3).
The Jags will host North Greenville (13-1) at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, at 2 p.m. The Crusaders’ lone loss was to Francis Marion.
