By Madison Brown |Online/Design EditorNew York Times bestselling author Rebecca Skloot will be at the Imperial Theatre on Friday Feb. 8 to discuss her book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. She will be joined by members of the Lacks family as they discuss the legacy of Henrietta Lacks and the contributions that have been made due to the discovery of her HeLa cells.The event is part of a two-day celebration to honor the life and legacy of Henrietta Lacks. The events began on Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Colombia County Library where Skloot held a book signing and Q&A session between her and the Lacks family.The next event that will be hosted is a panel over Skloot's book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, followed by a brief Q&A session. The event is will be held at the Imperial Theatre and is free to the public. The doors will open at 6 p.m. to those that already have tickets.
