By Laura Bell | ContributorA narrator named Footnote, a girl named Beauty who drinks paint water, and a Colonel who can’t remember what he ate for breakfast. These are just a few of the vivid characters that we find in Noah Haidle’s Smokefall. 
Communication professor Doug Joiner will be directing the actors as they take on these eccentric characters on the stage. The cast in this production may only be five actors, but the story will have your head spinning within the first five minutes. From talking fetuses to a character who does not talk, this play will have you constantly guessing.In an interview with the director, Joiner said Smokefall is funny that it’s touching.“It includes the audience in a world that we all lived before or do so now,” he said.When asked what part he was most excited to see the actors bring to life, Joiner said “The world of the play and the characters on stage… I would have to say all of it.”The actors starring in this production are Benjamin Evans, Allison Berres, Rick Davis, Ceara Hester, and Neil Davenport.Opening night will be Nov. 10 at the Maxwell Theatre. Admission for Augusta University students is free and admission is $10 for the public. Military, Senior, Student/child, and staff discounts are available.
