By Quinlan Hughes |Sports writerThe Augusta Jaguars' volleyball team defeated the Georgia College Bobcats on Tuesday, Oct. 22 in the pink-out game.The win improved AU's record is now to 2-2 in the Peach Belt and 17-4 overall, while the Bobcats record falls to 0-4, 6-13 this season.Coming off a long weekend in South Carolina against USC Aiken and Lander, the Jags put their best foot forward, shook off the pair of losses, and said enough is enough. `In the first set, the Bobcats started off with the lead for the majority of the set, but Augusta rallied. Fighting back, they tied the Bobcats at 21-21. They went back and forth until Madison Malloch won the set with a kill for 29-27.In the second set, the Jags took the momentum from the start with a 10-4 run, pressuring the Bobcats to call a timeout. That couldn’t stop the Jaguars, who won the set 25-11.The Bobcats came out swinging in the third set, but it wasn’t good enough to put down the Jaguars, who finished with a 25-13 set win.The Jaguars leading on offense was Nicolette Ramos with 15 kills. Following her was Jessica Hedrick with a remarkable night of 11 kills and a team high .400 hitting percentage. The assist leader for the night was Payton Murchie, who dished out 32 assists. Defensively, Holland Martin led with 19 digs, followed by Kylie Martin with 17 and a double-double with 10 kills.The Lady Jaguars play at home on Friday, Oct. 25 against UNC Pembroke at 7 p.m. The host Francis Marion on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m.
