Jaguars set to compete in the cross country nationals for second straight year

AU prepares for NCAA Division II XC Championship video (CLICK HERE)By Leeroy Francis Jr. |Sports editorAugusta University's men will sprint from the starting line of the 10-kilometer race at Schenley Park in Pittsburgh on Saturday, Dec. 1, in the NCAA Division II Championship.The Jaguars hope to improve on their 23rd-place finish last year. AU finished third in the Southeast Regional at North Georgia two weeks ago to advance to the nationals.In the regional, Hunter Kimball, a sophomore, finished seventh and Noah Hulett, a senior, was eighth. Teammate Jacob Poston, another sophomore, was 19th.Coach Adam Ward hopes the team can finish in the top 20 and he believes two or three Jaguar runners can earn all-America honors. Hulett said he was hoping for a top-15 finish for the team."We're super excited about it, and it's a great opportunity to represent the school at the national level," Kimball said.In addition to Kimball, Hulet and Poston, Ward will also have Chandler Kennedy, Rakeem Littles, Josh Seiden and Hans Troyer running in Pittsburgh.
