The COVID Report with David Blake: Georgia updates

Georgia is now number one in COVID infections. We have more cases than any other state.

The other “summer wave” states, like SC, FL, TX, and AZ have clearly past peak. Georgia does not look as clear.

Part of the issue is that while cases are lower in Georgia than two weeks ago, the cases per fatality is also dropping. It is too early to know for certain, but could we simply be testing more poorly causing it to look at though we are improving?

If we are actually past peak, the number of deaths should start to decline in the next 10 days.

Lastly, let’s take a close look at infection levels in the populous counties of the Central Savannah River Area.

The CSRA has even a higher rate of COVID infections than the state of Georgia.
